Cal Llop restaurant

Perched at the top of the village of Gratallops, this hotel and restaurant was opened a few years ago by Cristina and Waldo, who came to the Priorat from Madrid. Àngel Bellota is in charge of the superb restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. He likes to base his cuisine on traditional Spanish meals especially rice dishes from his native València. Two rooms, one for smoking and one for non-smoking (unfortunately no door between) in what was once the stables and wine cellar of three old village houses. Seating for 35 people and a summer terrace with wonderful views. A la carte service. Price between 30 and 40 Euros.

PRIORAT CUISINE

Minerva Pi has just brought out a second edition of her popular "Priorat Cuisine" cookbook. Roser Vernet has re-edited the original version: "Priorat a taula" which was out of print. Available at various shops and the Priorat Tourist Office in Falset, but only in Catalan - sorry!
